Starter Jackets

I distinctly remember being in 3rd and 4th grade praying that for Christmas I got a new Starter Jacket.  You remember, the pull over jackets, that were half zip with a huge pocket in the front and team logo on the back?  I just remember thinking those jackets were so cool as a kid.  I had a popular team, UConn, but I remember some other popular ones being Orlando Magic, New Orleans Hornets and the Pittsburgh Steelers, among others.

Although these jackets are well beyond their hay day, every once in a while, you find a kind soul that brings  you back to your youth.  This happened to me last week.  I was in Dunkin Donuts, minding my own business and this woman storms in, in none other than the UConn Starter Jacket…the specific one she was wearing was the full zip, not the half zip like that one I owned, but it took me on a walk down memory lane either way.

After seeing this site, any tiny shred of wonderment on why people no longer wear these awesome coats vanished immediately.
