You’ve Obviously Never Tried Them On…
Today I want to talk about somewhat of a delicate matter – shoes. Not just any shoes, comfortable shoes…in fact, possibly the most comfortable shoes you could ever wear: Crocs and Uggs. People either love ’em or hate ’em and I can see both sides because it took me a while to warm up to both.
Lets start with the Uggs because those were the first ones that I got. I remember it like it was yesterday…It was the summer after senior year in high school and Pamela Anderson was photographed in these big furry boots…in LA in the middle of summer…It was ridiculous. I thought, “Wow, that’s the studpidest thing I’ve ever seen”. But then I got a pair myself. Not the big furry ones she was wearing – just normal tall tan Uggs, and it was a life changer. Anyone who is completely against Uggs have OBVIOUSLY never put them on their feet. It’s seriously like a foot garage. The fluffy insides make your feet so comfortable and warm…If you’ve got a pair of Uggs, you don’t need anything else for the winter. Oh, except a pair of snow boots…you can’t wear these suckers in the snow because they will get ruined.
Next Crocs. I still hate Crocs. ok, its a love/hate relationship: My brain and my eyes hate them, but my feet keep begging for more. I told myself never, EVER will I wear Crocs, but then I had this roommate who would wear them all the time because he was a chef and would wear them in the kitchen while standing all day. From time to time I’d throw them on to go grab the mail and boy oh boy were they comfortable. But, just on principle I refused to buy them. Then one day I came home from work and there they were…a pair of pink Crocs like the ones in this pic. I was delighted by this development…now I had a pair and I didnt have to go through the embarrassment of buying them myself. Plus I could tell people that I only wear them because they were a gift and I’m just trying to be polite. ;) Anyways, even if I do get made fun of for these I don’t really care because they are seriously the most comfortable thing ever. Honestly, its like walking on clouds. In fact, I really think its more comfortable to walk with crocs on than it is to sit and not walk at all. I got some skull and lightening bolt buttons to put in the holes to make them more bad ass, but over the years they have all fallen out, which makes me sad. I’ll have to find some more buttons for the crocs soon.
So what do you think? Do you wear crocs and/or uggs? Do you have an even worse fashion statement you’d like to share?
